Throughout the year, your work and your career development will be supported by the Trust's Director Paul Bayley. At the beginning of the Florence Trust year he will meet with you to assess your practice and you will jointly create a bespoke plan to develop and promote your work within the context of the London art world. Ongoing support is also offered by the Studio Manager, and dedicated interns also assist with a variety of projects.
Paul Bayley (Director)
Since graduating from Leeds University Paul has worked for the past twenty years in contemporary visual arts. From the mid 1980’s at the Yorkshire Sculpture Park and then in the Exhibitions Department at the Tate Gallery through to becoming Director of Visual Arts at Cornerhouse, Manchester. During his time in Manchester, he curated over fifty exhibitions working with many well known international artists and project managing important off site installations. Since moving to London in 2002 he has also worked on freelance publications projects and as a visual arts officer for Arts Council England.

Karen Tang (Studio Manager)
Studio Manager Karen Tang has worked in higher education as a Fine Art Lecturer at Wimbledon College of Art and the University of the West of England. She has experience in planning academic modules, exhibitions, trips and seminars. Karen is also a practicing artist represented by the Agency Gallery in London. After graduating from MFA Sculpture at the Slade School of Art, she completed various research projects and residencies including the Duveen Travel Bursary and Breathe at CAC, Manchester. Recently Karen has shown work at the Jerwood Space, South London Gallery and Economist Plaza and continues to exhibit widely in the UK and internationally. She brings her experiences of the London artworld to Florence Trust, as well as technical and problem-solving skills, marketing and networking advice to her day to day dealings with the Florence Trust artists.
Karen has been Studio Manager since 2008.
