Exhibitions and events, opportunities for exposure
- We hold twice yearly studio exhibitions of the current artists work. A Winter Open Studio event and a curated exhibition each July to mark the end of the year. Both events are well marketed and attended.
- We produce an annual catalogue which showcases our resident artists to accompany the end of year exhibition. This full colour publication includes commissioned essays by well known curators and writers and is distributed widely, with extra copies made available to the artists.
- We encourage and support our artists to make the most of opportunities away from the Trust. Recently, Florence Trust artists have gained international residencies, Arts Council and Crafts Council funding, solo shows in major London Galleries and countless appearances in group shows and alternative spaces.
- We seek to collaborate with local, partner organisations to maximise opportunities for our artists.
- Networking in the London art market - We recognise the importance of developing professional networking skills. We work with the major public arts funders, have links with the public and commercial London galleries, art fairs, arts organisations and consultants, art writers and curators.
- Ad-hoc studio visits are encouraged and arranged from our extensive list of contacts. Artists will have structured opportunities to make group or individual visits to specific places of interest and events.
- Recent visits have been to the Frieze Art Fair, Liverpool Biennial and The British Art Show in Newcastle.
- One of the most valuable networks we possess is that of the Florence Trust Alumni artists who generously pass on information, experience and opportunities to us. In turn we always look out for opportunities for present and past artists.
- Although we have nearly twenty years experience in promoting the artists and work of the Trust, we are constantly seeking new connections and opportunities.
Participation in the group
- Every artist is free to pursue their own work in their own time. However, a key part of our programme is the opportunity to participate in on going peer critiques with fellow artists. We aim to foster a comfortable working atmosphere. Many previous groups of Florence Trust artists still exhibit with each other, years after leaving the Trust. We support these continuing relationships through our developing Alumni program.
- Every effort is made to include the current artists in discussions over the Trust's future and the development of what we offer to artists. In addition, we now have a permanent place on the board of trustees reserved for a Florence Trust Alumni artist.
Reputation for you to build upon

- Our unique approach combined with the skills and experience of our Director and Studio Manager will provide you with support and access to London's contemporary art world.
- Gaining a studio space with us is an achievement in itself and creates a foundation for life long networks and career support.
