Oh’s practice often incorporates spiritual and subliminal fantasies from science. Hollowness of geometrical illusions and spectacle in her work would explore a possibility of alternative realities and mysticism of science. Geometrical features always appear in science magazines and books as axioms and demonstrations. Ideas and theories of scientists are incorporated into these vivid graphs and symbols and they are helping us understand the ideas. These colourfully elaborated graphs and symbols hold the artist’s attention. Later on, these Figures and diagrams in Science magazines often withdrawn to elements and colours in sculpture and installation. Reflective illusionary images and layered colours are essential elements of my work that creates elusive images.
Recent series of sculptures, often using mirrors, draw upon projected images and light and the artist seeks to evoke a perception of illusionary world and stimulate viewer’s consciousness.
