Drawing is the engine of my creative process, whether ink on paper or threads in space. Two recurring approaches are the collection and production of small parts that form a larger whole, and the repetition of simple marks or gestures.
Findings of everyday life, from natural materials to speech and words, are incorporated and installation pieces always responds the surrounding space. The making process is central – evidence of the hand-made and attention to detail is always present.
My work aims to encourages a slower act of looking and movement from the viewer. The intention is to create lyrical arrangements of line, form and colour that evoke feelings of wonder and beauty.
