Ting-Tong Chang’s satirical gaze leaves no aspect of society untouched. Revelling in the absurd and illogical, he makes a mockery of socio-political subjects ranging from the social and ecological effects of consumerism to the functioning of the art world itself. Working across the distinct practices of ink drawing, durational performance and kinetic sculpture, his transgressive practice co-opts science, technology and history to dissect the world around him.
Chang has exhibited and received a number of awards internationally, with solo exhibitions at Edinburgh Sculpture Workshop(2014), CFCCA Manchester(2015), Christine Park Gallery London (2016) and Asia House London(2016). He also exhibits at Taipei Biennial, Saatchi Gallery, Hull City of Culture and FACT Liverpool. Chang’s major awards are Edinburgh Creative Initiative Award 2013, RBS Bursary Award, RISE Award 2016 at Art Central Hong Kong and Ibero-American Arts Award 2016.
Chang’s works are collected by Taipei Fine Arts Museum, Embassy of Brazil London and Noblesse Collection Seoul. He lives and works in London and is a bursary member of Royal British Society of Sculptors.
