Using architectural fragments I create structures that balance between abstraction and representation. My work is a process lead investigation into the nature of construction and the built environment. I am interested in exploring the relationships and contrasts between different materials and I am intrigued by landscapes that exist in between the organic and the man made.

I am concerned with processes of making and constructing and I often use animation, both as a means of documentation and as a way of creating short narratives that explore the possibilities and limitations of certain materials. Music plays an important part in my work and I have an ongoing collaboration with composer Edmund Finnis who shares my preoccupation with finding ways in which a limited range of pre-prescribed materials can be arranged and processed to create imagined spaces, aural and physical, whose characteristics indirectly reflect the nature of our own built environment.
