I like to experiment with different media including painting, photography and more recently working with found objects. I relish the somewhat unexpected results techniques like painting with very diluted paint pigments can produce and how I can integrate these into my final works.

My work is predominately in landscapes, which are grounded neither wholly in reality nor fiction, but are a complex blend of the two. By using the interplay between colour and light I want to capture, specifically in my paintings, a dreamy quality that often only exists in one’s memory or fantasies.

Over the last few months I focused my view of landscapes in order to investigate the more detailed organic forms around us. I began to concentrate primarily on water and its reflection. I am particularly attracted by the abstract qualities water reveals and the manifold variation in its patterns.
